The main news on the Alfa
Romeo stand was the release of the new 156 GTA and Sportwagon GTA. One
of each of these cars were displayed on two angled, rotating glass platforms.
The 147 was present in three and five-door forms, whilst the standard 156
and Sportwagon were also present. The range was completed (No GTV present)
by a single 166 and Spider.

The GTA was presented in both versions. The windows were blacked out, preventing any view of the interior, rumoured to be significantly facelifted.
See our 156 page for further details and pictures.
The 147 was shown in three
(above) and five (above right) door form.
A Sportwagon (right), standard 156 berlina (below right) and 166 and Spider (both below) completed the stand. As usual all of the cars were in silver (or metallic grey) or red. |

Wandering around the suppliers
stands, it was interesting to note an ageing Alfa Romeo 6-cylinder engine
being used to demonstrate an engine stand !
Elsewhere in the Motorshow there was a reproduction of the 1951 show. On the Alfa Romeo stand there was a 1900 berlina (below). |
