Ferrari 328A logical development of the 308 cars, the 328 was launched at the Frankfurt Motorshow in 1985. It used a bored and stroked engine with a capacity of 3185cc, still transversely located behind the two seats in a mildly facelifted body. The latter had revised front and rear bumpers, engine cooling grille (the grilles in the front wings disappeared, whilst the bonnet grille expanded), interior, instrumentation and a few other details. The chassis was stretched by 10mm, but otherwise remained essentially unchanged.
Production continued until 1989 when they were replaced by the 348. The 'tax friendly' two-litre version, known simply as the 'GTB turbo' or 'GTS turbo' is covered on our 208 page. A total of 761 328GTB's and 3431 328GTS's were built.
